I created this blog when I was still living in West Africa. I envisioned an open forum where I could post my experiences, reach the masses and receive infinite feedback. Or, at the very least, get some stuff off my chest. Feel free to do the same.
My sentiments...I'm not biased. But I have a nagging suspicion that volunteer work, perhaps humanitarian work, has neither a substantial nor a sustainable effect on third world countries. NGO and volunteer work seem to scratch the surface of the true problem. The problem is the lack infrastructural development where building wells and planting gardens for small villages have no real long-term impact.
